At high trns phosphine (pH2) dissociates into phosphorus and hydrogen by the following reaction: At SOW C the rate at which phos

phine dissociates is for I in seconds. The reaction occurs in a constant volume. 3-L vessel, and the initial concentration of phosphine is 5 kmol/rn3. If 3 rnol of the phosphine reacts. how much phosphorus and hydrogen is produced?

Answer: 0.75 moles of Phosphorus and 4.5 moles of Hydrogen are produced respectively from 3 moles of Phosporus.

Explanation:

4PH3 --------> P4 + 6H2

From the stochiometry of the reaction,

4 moles of Phosphine gives 1 mole of Phosphorus

3 moles of Phosphine will give (3×1)/4 moles of Phosphorus.

Therefore, 0.75 moles of Phosphorus is produced.

Similarly, 4 moles of Phosphine gives 6 moles of Hydrogen

3 moles of Phosphine will give (3×6)/4 moles of Hydrogen.

Therefore, 4.5 moles of Hydrogen is produced.

Calculate the pH of a solution prepared by mixing: (Show your work for these calculations) pk of acetic acid is 4.75 a. two mole
kupik [55]

Answer:

Explanation:

To calculate pH you need to use Henderson-Hasselbalch formula:

pH = pka + log₁₀ \frac{[A^-]}{[HA]}

Where HA is the acid concentration and A⁻ is the conjugate base concentration.

The equilibrium of acetic acid is:

CH₃COOH ⇄ CH₃COO⁻ + H⁺ pka: 4,75

Where <em>CH₃COOH </em>is the acid and <em>CH₃COO⁻ </em>is the conjugate base.

Thus, Henderson-Hasselbalch formula for acetic acid equilibrium is:

pH = 4,75 + log₁₀ \frac{[CH_{3}COO^-]}{[CH_{3}COOH]}

a) The pH is:

pH = 4,75 + log₁₀ \frac{[2 mol]}{[2 mol]}

<em>pH = 4,75</em>

<em></em>

b) The pH is:

pH = 4,75 + log₁₀ \frac{[2 mol]}{[1mol]}

<em>pH = 5,05</em>

<em></em>

I hope it helps!

Which of the following affects the rate of a chemical reaction?
butalik [34]
D. A ll of the above. catalyst reduces the activation energy thereby making the reaction faster. an increase in temperature  increases the kinetic energy and no of collisions making reaction faster for an endothermic reaction while decrease in temperature favors an exothermic reaction.
increase in concentration increases the molecules reacting so the reaction is faster and vice versa.
