A force that varies with time is applied to an object. The force increases linearly from zero to twenty-four newtons during the

first two seconds. Then, the force remains constant for four seconds. During the last two seconds, the force linearly decreases to zero newtons. What is the total impulse exerted on the object?

Answer:

144Ns

Explanation:

Impulse is the product of force and change in time or a measure of the change in momentum. Mathematically, Impulse is given as

J = FΔt

Where

J = Impulse,

F = Force,

Δt = change in time.

Due to the varying force, we know that the impulse varies at different points in the motion. Hence, the Net Impulse will be the addition of the individual impulses, i.e.

J = ΣJᵢ

J = J₁ + J₂ + J₃

J = F₁Δt₁ + F₂Δt₂ + F₃Δt₃

=> J = (24*2) + (24*4) + (0*2)

J = 48 + 96 + 0

J = 144 Ns

How are sublimation and deposition different from each other
yanalaym [24]
There are six distinct changes of phase which happens to different substances at different temperatures. ... Sublimation: the substance changes directly from a solid to a gas without going through the liquid phase. Deposition: the substance changes directly from a gas to a solid without going through the liquid phase.

A 2cm length of wire centered on the origin carries a 20A current directed in the positive y direction. Determine the magnetic f
skad [1K]

Answer:

The magnetic field at a distance x = 5 m is 1.59 nT

Explanation:

Length of the wire, L = 2 cm = 0.02 m

Current, I = 20 A

x = 5 m

Magnetic field at a distance x = 5 m due to an infinitely long wire is given by:

B = \frac{\mu_{o}IL}{4\pi x\sqrt{x^{2} + L^{2}}}

B = \frac{4\pi\times 10^{- 7}\times 20\times 0.02}{4\pi \times 5\sqrt{5^{2} + 0.02^{2}}} = 1.59\times 10^{- 9}\ T
