Answer:

9,240 ways possible in which this can be accomplished if there are 22 members on the board of directors.

Step-by-step explanation:

Total number of available members in the board = 22

The number of posts chosen are a president, a secretary, and a treasurer.

For the Post of President:

The number of available options to choose a president = 22 options

For the Post of Secretary:

As we can not repeat the members because one person CANNOT hold two positions simultaneously.

The number of available options to choose a secretary = 21 options

For the Post of Treasurer:

As we can not repeat the members because two person CANNOT hold three positions simultaneously.

The number of available options to choose a treasure = 20 options

Now, the possible ways can this whole election be accomplished is the product of all possible options

= 22 option x 21 option x 20 option

= 9,240 ways

Hence, there are 9,240 ways possible in which this can be accomplished if there are 22 members on the board of directors.

How do you find the area of a right triangle if you only have the base
valentina_108 [34]

Step-by-step explanation:

You can find the area of a right triangle the same as you would any other triangle by using the following formula:

A = (1/2)bh, where A is the area of the triangle, b is the length of the base and h is the height of the triangle; However, with a right triangle, it's much more convenient in finding its area if we utilize the lengths of the two legs (the two sides that are shorter than the longest side, the hypotenuse and that are perpendicular to each other and thus form the right angle of the right triangle), that is, since the two legs of a right triangle are perpendicular to each other, when we treat one leg as the base, then, consequently, we can automatically treat the length of the other leg as the height, and if we initially know the lengths of both legs, then we can then just plug this information directly into the area formula for a triangle to find the area A of the right triangle.

For example: Find the area of a right triangle whose legs have lengths of 3 in. and 4 in.

Make the 4 in. leg the base. Since the two legs of a right triangle are perpendicular to each other, then the length of the other leg is automatically the height of the triangle; therefore, plugging this information into the formula for the area of a triangle, we have:

A = (1/2)bh

= (1/2)(4 in.)(3 in.)

= (1/2)(12 in.²)

A = 6 in.² (note: in.² means square inches)

Which point is collinear with points a and d
Art [367]
B. (6, -8)

First, you need to figure out the slope of the line

(y1 - y2) / (x1 - x2)

After substituting points D(-3, 4) A(3, -4)

[4 - (-4)] / (-3 - 3)
(8) / (-6)

The slope of the line is -8/6 or -4/3 simplified

Then you can put it in point slope form:

(y - y1) = m(x - x1)

(y - y1) = -4/3(x - x1)

The point that I am using for point slope form is A(3, -4)

[y - (-4)] = -4/3(x - 3)
y + 4 = -4/3(x - 3)

Next you have to simplify the equation so that y is isolated

y + 4 = -4/3(x - 3)

First distribute the -4/3

y + 4 = -4/3(x) + (-4/3)(-3)
y + 4 = -4/3x + 4

Subtract 4 on both sides
y + 4 - 4 = -4/3x + 4 - 4
y = -4/3x

Now that you have y = -4/3x, you can substitute the values until one of them makes the equation equal

For example) (6, -8)
-8 = -4/3(6)
-8 = -8

So since (6, -8) fits in the slope intercept equation, it must me collinear with points A and D

~~hope this helps~~
