While you develop callused feet when you go barefoot for a summer, your neighbor remains a tenderfoot by protecting her feet wit
Assoli18 [71]

Answer:

Option-D

Explanation:

The skin toughness trait is determined by the genes which can control the components of skin like the amount of the collagen and the elastin.  Also, the trait is influenced by the environmental factors which can act as a stimulus to either increase or decrease the components of the skin.

In the given case, when you walk barefooted develops the callus but when you walk with the shoes you do not develop calluses. Here the development of calluses is influenced by the environment which can lead to the increased production of collagen genetically which provides strength.

Thus, Option-D is the correct answer.

What is the advantage of having a folded inner membrane in the mitochondria
Aliun [14]

Okay so, the mitochondria are shaped perfectly to maximize their productivity. They are made of two membranes. The outer membrane covers the organelle and contains it like a skin. The inner membrane folds over many times and creates layered structures called cristae. The fluid contained in the mitochondria is called the matrix. The folding of the inner membrane increases the surface area inside the organelle. Since many of the chemical reactions happen on the inner membrane, the increased surface area creates more space for reactions to occur.

Hope that helps (:

Evgen [1.6K]

It is the most abundant ore of aluminum.

It is located near the surface and can be easily strip mined

Explanation:

Bauxite is the most common ore of aluminium be cause it contains the most aluminium and the ore is located near the surface.

  • Bauxite is a sedimentary rock that contains about 30-55% aluminium.
  • it has a very high aluminium content in it .
  • Bauxite is made up of aluminium rich minerals such as diaspore, gibbsite and boehmite.
  • The rock bauxite forms in tropical climate where laterite has been seriously leached and the aluminium becomes concentrated.
  • Since it is a sedimentary rock, the formation can be accessed by strip mining.
  • This entails the removal of the overburden and mining the ore.
  • Strip mining is used for ores close to the surface.
