According to a study by the American Pet Food Dealers Association, 63 percent of U.S. households own pets. A report is being pre

pared for an editorial in the San Francisco Chronicle. As a part of the editorial a random sample of 300 households showed 210 own pets. Does this data disagree with the Pet Food Dealers Association data? Use a .05 level of significance. Discuss how you arrived at the results. Think about how many of your friends or relatives are pet owners. Do these people seem to be representative of the Pet Food survey respondents?

Answer: 2.511 lies in the rejection region, so we will reject the null hypothesis.

jhgjhghjh

Step-by-step explanation:

Since the null and alternate hypothesis are :

H_0:\pi =0.63\\\\H_1:\pi \neq 0.63

Since there is 0.05 level of significance,

So, there will be two tail test:

As we know that

z = -1.96 or z = 1.96

If the test statistic does not fall in the range of -1.96 to 1.96, we will reject the null hypothesis.

So, it becomes,

z=\dfrac{p-\pi }{\sqrt{\dfrac{\pi(1-\pi)}{n}}}\\\\z=\dfrac{0.7-0.63}{\sqrt{\dfrac{0.63.\times 0.37}{300}}}\\\\z=2.511

Since 2.511 lies in the rejection region, so we will reject the null hypothesis.

Hence, People does not seem to be representative of the Pet Food survey respondents.

Solve for n: 5n-14<1
Snezhnost [94]

Answer:  n< 3

Step-by-step explanation:

5n - 14 < 1 .  add 14 to both sides

5n -14 +14 < 1 + 14

5n +0 < 15

5n < 15   divide both sides by 5 .5n/5 = 15/5

n < 3

A tangent contains at most how many chords?
Ivan
<span>This really doesn't make any sense.

A tangent is the slope of a curve at some given point, so it's a straight line. "Chords" don't even apply to straight lines.

The only response that's even in the same galaxy as this weird question is zero.

It's like asking....how many dinosaurs live in the cow pasture?</span><span>

Please help me with these two questions, 10 points for each so in total 20!!
saul85 [17]

Answer:

\large\boxed{Q2.\qquad C.\ -2x+y=-2}\\\boxed{Q4.\qquad C.\ y=3x+12}

Step-by-step explanation:

Q2:

The point-slope form of an equation of a line:

y-y_1=m(x-x_1)

m - slope

The formula of a slope:

m=\dfrac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}

We have the points (4, 6) and (6, 10). Substitute:

m=\dfrac{10-6}{6-4}=\dfrac{4}{2}=2

y-6=2(x-4)           <em>use distributive property</em>

y-6=2x-8      <em>add 6 to both sides</em>

y=2x-2          <em>subteact 2 from both sides</em>

-2x+y=-2

Q4:

The slope-intercept form of an equation of a line:

y=mx+b

m - slope

b - y-intercept

Put the slope m = 3 and the coordinateso f the point (-2, 6) to the point-slope form of an equation of a line:

y-6=3(x-(-2))

y-6=3(x+2)         <em>use distributive property</em>

y-6=3x+6     <em>add 6 to both sides</em>

y=3x+12
