An adolescent would act out by behaving completely different and doing things that they wouldn’t normally do. Some also get into drugs and alcohol just because a temporarily takes the pain away unless they become addicted. this could become an issue because the child could begin to think that their feelings aren’t valid because of the fact that their own parents who live with them didn’t notice. Also, this might lead them to think that they can do whatever they want without punishment since their parents haven’t noticed.
