A) N + D = 30
B) .05N + .1D = 2.20

Multiplying equation A by -.05
A) -.05N  -.05D = -1.50 then adding it to B
B) .05N + .1D = 2.20
.05D = .70
Dimes = 14

Nickels = 30 -14 = 16

Answer:

The number of nickels are 16 and the number of dimes are 14.

Step-by-step explanation:

As given

Let n represent the number of nickels.

let d represent the number of dimes.

As given

Luis is saving money to purchase a new video game.

He has a total of 30 coins consisting of nickels and dimes.

Than the equation becomes

n + d = 30

As the value of the coins is $2.20.

As 1 nickel = 0.05 dollars

    1 dimes = 0.1 dollars

Than the equation becomes

0.05n + 0.1d = 2.20

Simplify the above

\frac{5n}{100} +\frac{d}{10} = \frac{220}{100}

L.C.M of (10,100) = 100

Than

5n + 10d = 220

Than two equations are

n + d = 30 and 5n + 10d = 220

Multiply n + d = 30 by 5 and subtracted from  5n + 10d = 220 .

5n - 5n + 10d - 5d = 220 - 150

5d = 70

d = \frac{70}{5}

d = 14

Put in the equation n + d = 30

n + 14 = 30

n = 30 - 14

n = 16

Therefore the number of nickels are 16 and the number of dimes are 14.

iren [92.7K]
Answer: 3 Bags

If you go from using 1 egg to 3 eggs, you are multiplying the amount you use by 3. If you multiply 1/3 by 3, you get 1 cup of oil. Apply that to your 1 bag of brownie mix, and you get a total of 3 brownie mix bags.

16-25(b+3) square
Andre45 [30]
Since 16 and 25 are perfect squares you can factor the first part.
4^2-5^2(b+3)^2
=(4-5(b+3))(4+5(b+3))
=(4-5b-15)(4+5b+15)
=(-11-5b)(19+5b)

Which can be expanded if necessary,
= -209+150b-25b^2

The proof ABC ≅ DCB that is shown.
Schach [20]

The correct answer is:

AAS

Explanation:

AAS stands for "angle-angle-side." This states that if two angles and a non-included side of one triangle are congruent to the corresponding two angles and non-included side of another triangle, then the triangles are congruent.

In these triangles, we have ∠CAB ≅ ∠CDB given to us to begin with. Throughout the proof, we find that ∠ABC ≅ ∠DCB. We also have that CB is congruent to itself. This is two angles and a side not included, so this is AAS.

The graph shows a reflection in the x-axis. The matrix M such that, for any point (x, y), M(x, y) = (x', y') is
Rashid [163]

Answer:

This is a reflection about the x-axis.

Step-by-step explanation:

A reflection about the x-axis has the rule

[x,y]-> [x,-y].

Therefore

M[x,y] = [x,-y}

Let M=

a  b

c  d

Then the matrix multiplication gives

ax+by=x.............(1)

cx+dy=-y............(2)

Solving the previous equations (1) and (2) gives

a=1, b=0

c=0, d=-1

giving M as

1  0

0 -1

What is the Kinetic energy of a 2000 kg bus that is moving at 30m/s?

Explain please
agasfer [191]

There's a formula for that.

KE = (1/2)mv²

... = (1/2)(2000 kg)(30 m/s)²

... = 900,000 kg·m²/s²

... = 900,000 J

_____

It is helpful to know the relationship between kilograms, meters, seconds, and Newtons or Joules.

1 J = 1 kg·m²/s²
