For example 20 divide by 5 you would see how many times 5 can go into 20 so then you realize 5 goes into 20, 4 times. So to do division you must figure out the reverse of it so you must know how to multiply. You start by multiplying 5 times 1 and until you reach your answer. If you have a times table sheet. You must follow the number being divided into the bigger number until you see the big number.

Hope this helps.<span />

6x60=360. 4 quarts is equal to 1 gallon so multiply 360 by 4 and you’d get 1440. So the answer should be 1440.

Solve 7 ( x + 1 ) + 2 = 5x + 15
yawa3891 [41]

Answer:

x = 3

Step-by-step explanation:

7(x + 1) + 2 = 5x + 15

~Simplify left side

7x + 7 + 2 = 5x + 15

~Combine like terms

7x + 9 = 5x + 15

~Subtract 9 to both sides

7x = 5x + 6

~Subtract 5x to both sides

2x = 6

~Divide 2 to both sides

x = 3

A store prices tapes by raising the wholesale price 50% and adding 25 cents .What must a tape's wholesale price be if the tape s
Andre45 [30]

Let's call the store value as s and the wholesale price as w. A store prices tapes by raising the wholesale price 50%(0.5 in decimals) and adding 25 cents, writing this as an equation, we have

s(w)=w+0.5w+0.25

If we invert the equation we're going to find the the wholesale price as a function of the store price.

\begin{gathered} s=w+0.5w+0.25 \\ s=1.5w+0.25 \\ s-0.25=1.5w \\ w(s)=\frac{s-0.25}{1.5} \end{gathered}

Now, to find the wholesale price if the sales price is $1.99, we just need to evaluate s = 1.99 on the function we created.

w(1.99)=\frac{1.99-0.25}{1.5}=1.16

The wholesale price is $1.16.
