I do not believe this is a good idea because by controlling our sorroundings, we are essentially stopping ourselves from evolving. In the evolutionary process, organisms adapted and evolved in better forms of themselves in order to combat the conditions in which they lived in. If we remove the conditions, then we will not be able to evolve. Also, organisms have already adapted to the conditions in which they live in. Cactus in the desert have the ability to survive long periods of time without a lot of water, but now we could easily just create more rain which would then result in no reason to evolve.
