Trench could form at the plate boundary

Answer:

The correct answer is trench and volcano.

Explanation:

When two tectonic plates with distinct densities come into contact with each other because of the convection currents, which are generated by the heat inside the asthenosphere, a convergent plate boundary gets produced. The deep trenches are generally produced when one of the plates slides underneath each other, a procedure known as subduction. The plate that is underneath will move under the mantle, and there will be a discharging of fluids from the rock that will somewhat melt the mantle. The elevation of molten rock takes place and may erupt violently to generate volcanoes.

Glucokinase and hexokinase in glycolysis
Delicious77 [7]

Answer:

Glucokinase or Hexokinase is a enzyme used at the first step of glycolysis.

Explanation:

 • Glucokinase is a Isoenzyme(enzymes which differs in the sequence of amino acids but catalyses the same reaction) of Hexokinase .
 • Glucokinase (hexokinase D) is present only in liver and pancreas whereas hexokinase is present in all cells.
 • In first step of glycolysis i.e formation of glucose-6-phosphate from glucose is completed with the help of hexokinase. In this step a ATP molecule is consumed i.e ATP is converted to ADP

Result: Glucokinase and hexokinase are used in the first step of glycolysis.

Consider two pairs of grandparents. The first pair has 4 grandchildren and the second pair has 32 grandchildren. Which of the tw
schepotkina [342]

Answer:

The second pair of grandparents have approximately 12 to 19 boys as grandchildren.

Explanation:

The probability of a grandchild being a girl or a boy is same, i.e., \frac{1}{2}.

The first pair of grandparents have 4 grandchildren.

The second pair of grandparents have 32 grandchildren.

If first pair of grandparents have between 40% to 60% boys as grandchildren then the number of boys are in the limit,

(40\%\ of 4,\ 60\%\ of 4)=(1.6, 2.4)\approx(2, 3)

Thus, the first pair of grandparents have approximately 2 to 3 boys as grandchildren.

If second pair of grandparents have between 40% to 60% boys as grandchildren then the number of boys are in the limit,

(40\%\ of 32,\ 60\%\ of 32)=(12.8, 19.2)\approx(13, 19)

Thus, the second pair of grandparents have approximately 12 to 19 boys as grandchildren.

So, it is clear that the second pair of grandparents are more likely to have between 40% and 60% boys as grandchildren.

Also according to the law of large numbers as the sample size increases the probability of an event gets closer to the theoretical probability.

How does the coloration of beetles help explain Darwin's dangerous idea
Gennadij [26K]

Not sure what you mean by dangerous. Charles Darwin had a theory on evolution called Natural Selection. This theory of his essentially states that the organisms that adapt best and most successfully to changes in their surroundings are more likely to survive. A coloration change in beetles would explain this because the color change may help them blend in with their surroundings better, thus escaping predators and having a greater chance of survival. These beetles, due to their success, will become prevalent, meaning that the other beetles will phase out because they have not adapted well to the environment.
