Yes, a mixture could be made up of only elements and no compounds, given that the elements never undergo a chemical interaction and stay only in physical contact with each other.

A compound is a substance bond between two or more different atoms, giving it a molecule. Substances within a composite can be really separated from each other as they nevermore respond chemically with one another. A mixture can have a mix of elements and mixtures or just a series of one or the other. So yes a mixture be made up of only elements and no compounds.

If the reaction produced 15.5 g CO2, how many grams of heptane were burned?
d1i1m1o1n [39]

Answer:

5 g of heptane were burned.

Explanation:

Given data:

Mass of CO₂ produced = 15.5 g

Mass of heptane burned = ?

Solution:

Balance chemical equation:

C₇H₁₆ + 11O₂ →7CO₂ + 8H₂O

First of all we will calculate the moles of CO₂ produced.

Number of moles = mass / molar mass

Molar of CO₂ = 44 g/mol

Number of moles = 15.5 g / 44 g/mol

Number of moles = 0.3523 mol

Now we will compare the moles of CO₂ and C₇H₁₆ from balance chemical equation

                     CO₂      :     C₇H₁₆

                      7         :        1

                 0.3523     :        1/7 × 0.3523 = 0.05 mol

Mass of C₇H₁₆:

Number of moles = mass / molar mass

Mass = number of moles ×  molar mass

Mass =  0.05 mol / 100 g/mol

Mass = 5 g

Describe how antibodies protect your body against disease when exposed to a virus
Ludmilka [50]
When children are small they are given vaccines that are usually dead viruses given to the body. These viruses don't cause damage to body and the body takes it as a real virus and prepare antibodies in the body but when a certain real disease or virus is in the body , the already presented antibodies fight with them for the protection of the body. These antibodies remain in the body so that when a disease or virus attacks the body the antibodies are already geared up to fight against them. Thus antibodies protect the body against invading microbes or viruses.
