Answer:

Commensalism

Explanation:

In nature, there are many kinds of relationships that are formed between animals and plants. These relationships are given certain names, depending on if both species benefit, or one benefits and the other suffers, or if they both are unaffected, one example of a relationship found in nature is called commensalism.

Commensalism is a kind of relationship that is seen between whales and the barnacles that are attached to them. In this relationship, the barnacles benefit greatly because, as the whale swims through the ocean, the barnacle constantly is exposed to a fresh source of nutrition. The whale however, is unaffected by having the barnacle attached to it.

Commensalism: only one species benefits while the other is neither helped nor
harmed
so the relationship is Commensalism

Three liquids that do not mix are poured into a cylindrical container with a diameter of 10.0 cm. The densities and volumes of t
kipiarov [429]

Answer:

P = 9622.9 Pa = 9.62 KPa

Explanation:

First, we will calculate the mass of all three liquids:

m = ρV

where,

m = mass of liquid

ρ = density of liquid

V = Volume of liquid

FOR LIQUID 1:

m₁ = (2.8 x 10³ kg/m³)(2 x 10⁻³ m³) = 5.6 kg

m₂ = (1 x 10³ kg/m³)(1.5 x 10⁻³ m³) = 1.5 kg

m₃ = (0.6 x 10³ kg/m³)(1 x 10⁻³ m³) = 0.6 kg

The total mass will be:

m = m₁ + m₂+ m₃ = 5.6 kg + 1.5 kg + 0.6 kg

m = 7.7 kg

Hence, the weight of the liquids will be:

W = mg = (7.7 kg)(9.81 m/s²) = 75.54 N

Now, we calculate the base area:

A = πr² = π(0.05 m)²

A = 7.85 x 10⁻³ m²

Now the pressure will be given as:

P = \frac{F}{A}\\\\P = \frac{75.54\ N}{7.85\ x\ 10^{-3}\ m^2}

<u>P = 9622.9 Pa = 9.62 KPa</u>

A car is stopped for a traffic signal. When the light turns green, the car accelerates, increasing its speed from 0 to 5.10 m/s
yarga [219]

Answer:

I=336.6kgm/s

Explanation:

The equation for the linear impulse is as follows:

I=F\Delta t

where I is impulse, F is the force, and \Delta t is the change in time.

The force, according to Newton's second law:

F=ma

and since a=\frac{v_{f}-v_{i}}{\Delta t}

the force will be:

F=m(\frac{v_{f}-v_{i}}{\Delta t})

replacing in the equation for impulse:

I=m(\frac{v_{f}-v_{i}}{\Delta t})(\Delta t)

we see that \Delta t is canceled, so

I=m(v_{f}-v_{i})

And according to the problem v_{i}=0m/s, v_{f}=5.10m/s and the mass of the passenger is m=66kg. Thus:

I=(66kg)(5.10m/s-0m/s)

I=(66kg)(5.10m/s)

I=336.6kgm/s

the magnitude of the linear impulse experienced the passenger is 336.6kgm/s
