Answer:

Density = 1.1839 kg/m³

Mass = 227.3088 kg

Specific Gravity = 0.00118746 kg/m³

Explanation:

Room dimensions are 4 m, 6 m & 8 m. Thus, volume = 4 × 6 × 8 = 192 m³

Now, from tables, density of air at 25°C is 1.1839 kg/m³

Now formula for density is;

ρ = mass(m)/volume(v)

Plugging in the relevant values to give;

1.1839 = m/192

m = 227.3088 kg

Formula for specific gravity of air is;

S.G_air = density of air/density of water

From tables, density of water at 25°C is 997 kg/m³

S.G_air = 1.1839/997 = 0.00118746 kg/m³

A hot iron horseshoe (mass = 0.35 kg ), just forged, is dropped into 1.40 L of water in a 0.45 kg iron pot initially at 22.0°C.
olga_2 [115]

Answer:

420 °C

Explanation:

m_{h} = mass of the horseshoe = 0.35 kg

m_{w} = mass of the water = 1.40 L = 1.40 kg

m_{i} = mass of the iron pot = 0.45 kg

c_{i} = specific heat of iron = 450 J kg⁻¹ °C⁻¹

c_{w} = specific heat of water = 4186 J kg⁻¹ °C⁻¹

T_{hi} = initial temperature of the horseshoe = ?

T_{wi} = initial temperature of the water = 22 °C

T_{pi} = initial temperature of the iron pot = 22 °C

T_{f} = final temperature = 32 °C

Using conservation of Heat

m_{h}c_{i}(T_{hi} - T_{f}) = m_{w}c_{w}(T_{f} - T_{wi}) + m_{i}c_{i}(T_{f} - T_{pi})

(0.35)(450)(T_{hi} - 32) = (1.40)(4186)(32 - 22) + (0.45)(450)(32 - 22)

(157.5)(T_{hi} - 32) = 60629

T_{hi} - 32 = 384.95

T_{hi} = 420 °C

An electric fan is running on HIGH. After fan has been running for 1.1 minutes, the LOW button is pushed. The fan slows down to
madam [21]

Answer:

ωi = 15.4 rev/sec

Explanation:

Since the movement of the fan is rotating, we are thus dealing with Rotational motion. In rotational motion, for angular speed to take place also means angular acceleration is also occurring.

angular acceleration = α = (change in speed)/(change in time)

angular acceleration = α = Δw/Δt = (ω - ωi) /(t- t₀) ..........(equation 1)

                                      α =  (ω -ωi) /(t- 0)

                                      α =  (ω-ωi) /t

                                      ωi  =  ω - αt ......................................(equation 2)

where ωi is the initial angular speed.

We replace the values for ω, t and α

ωi = 105 rad/sec - ( 4.4 rad/sec² )(1.85s) = 96.86 rad/s = 15.415747788 rev/sec
