Simplify each expression as much as possible, and rationalize denominators when applicable. . √36/√18= ?
tino4ka555 [31]

Answer:

√2

Step-by-step explanation:

Solving the given expression step by step:

\frac{\sqrt{36} }{\sqrt{18} } = \frac{6}{3\sqrt{2} }\ \ \ [\because \sqrt{36} = 6 \ and \ \sqrt{18} = 3\sqrt{2}] \\ = \frac{3 \times 2}{3\sqrt{2} } = \frac{ 2}{\sqrt{2} }= \sqrt{2}

We rationalize denominator and change it into a simpler form as soon as possible.

Using conversion of units, it is found that Dylan needs another 1.29 ounces of cheese.

----------------------------

  • The conversion of units are applied using a rule of three.
  • Each gram has 0.035274 ounces. How many ounces are there in 150 grams?

1 gram - 0.035274 ounces

150 grams - x ounces

Applying cross multiplication:

x = 150 \times 0.035274 = 5.29

----------------------------

  • Dylan has 4 ounces of cheddar cheese.
  • He needs 5.29 ounces.
  • Thus, he needs another 5.29 - 4 = 1.29 ounces.

Answer circled questions with small explanation please!
emmasim [6.3K]
1. y= 2/5 because 2/5 + 2/5 = 4/5
2. x = 4/8 because 4/8 - 3/8 = 1/8
3. d = 1 or 5/5 because 1 ( or 5/5 ) - 1/5 = 4/5

Tip - use inverse operation to get the answers. For example for 1 since 2/5 is a positive number I subtracted 4/5 - 2/5 and that’s how I got 2/5 for 1. :D
