Answer: the trappings of competence

Explanation:

Trappings of competence have to do with those actions that a person performs to project an image. If a person wants other people to think something about how to act and to create an image for people to think about what that person wants.

This type of action is carried out in any area of society, where the person seeks to project a certain image that he believes will make other people respect him or have a different vision. In Fred's case, he always maintains a formal image, making believe that he is always busy and mentioning the famous people they know. With this Fred looks for people to believe that he is someone important and it may be so since he is creating that image.

how have recent corporate scandals affected US Economic history and the way we view corporations and big businesses?
Over [174]
According to Goffman, stigma functions as a kind of reputational bankruptcy, in which the actual self cannot make good on the implicit promises of the virtual self. The best course of action for an executive stigmatized by scandal is to borrow, as it were, reputation and legitimacy from someone else. Managers who have extensive external networks, or who are in fields that emphasize individual reputations, may be able to acquire such cover through existing relationships.

For many others, executive search firms can serve as both the reference and the sponsor. Indeed, the importance of the research that these firms perform lies not only in the exonerating information but also in the time and energy that gathering such information represents. Search firms are hired by companies, not by job seekers, and will not invest in an in-depth background check unless they already believe in the candidate’s innocence and value on the job market. Their investigations provide a form of reputational voucher.

Why would there be thousands of new voters in the election of 1828?
Zepler [3.9K]

Voting producers methods were also additionally changed with the goal that casting a vote by voice was exceptional by paper votes; these progressions urged individuals to cast a vote how they would have preferred and to feel less compelled to cast a vote in the manner in which their social superiors did. These adjustments in the electorate helped Andrew Jackson win the Presidency in 1828.
