Compared with the medical model of health, the biopsychosocial model approach to health and well-being
Fed [463]
Compared with the medical model of health, the biopsychosocial model approach to health and well-being is multi-factorial rather than single factor. The former believes that a certain defect in an organism is explainable through cellular abnormalities or organic pathology, which is a standard approach. However, the latter believes that diseases are caused by a variety of underlying factors, for example: biological, psychological, and social — which are driven by an individual’s natural system and lifestyle.
