Answer:

The heat needed to warm 406.0 mg of cyclohexane from 33.5°C to 38.9°C is 209.22 Joules

Explanation:

Q=mc\Delta T

Where:

Q = heat absorbed or heat lost

c = specific heat of substance

m = Mass of the substance

ΔT = change in temperature of the substance

We have mass of cyclohexane = m = 406.0 mg = 0.4060 g

( 1 mg =0.001 g)

Specific heat of cyclohexane  = c = 1.85 J/g°CK

ΔT = 38.9°C - 33.5°C = 5.4°C =5.4+273.15 K = 278.55 K

Heat absorbed by the cyclohexane :

Q=0.4060 g\times 1.85 J/gK\times 278.55 K=209.22 J

The heat needed to warm 406.0 mg of cyclohexane from 33.5°C to 38.9°C is 209.22 Joules

A scientist has isolated a fatty acid that has 26 carbons. Most of the carbon atoms in the fatty acid chain are connected by sin
igomit [66]

Answer:

Polyunsaturated

Explanation:

A fatty acid is a compound that is derivative from a carboxylic acid. The chain of carbons can have since 4 carbons to more than 20 carbons. The bonds between carbons can be simple, which are called saturated bonds, or double, or triple, which is called unsaturated bonds.

When a fatty acid only has saturated bonds between carbons, it's called a saturated fatty acid. If there is only one unsaturated bond, it's called an unsaturated fatty acid, and if there are two or more unsaturated bonds, it's called polyunsaturated fatty acid.

At the end of chemical reactions, what is the total mass of the reactants compared to the total mass of the products?
zhuklara [117]
Mass is never lost or gained in chemical reactions. We say that mass is always conserved. In other words, the total mass of products at the end of the reaction is equal to the total mass of the reactants at the beginning. This is because no atoms are created or destroyed during chemical reactions.
