Bad White [126]

Answer:

65.45

Step-by-step explanation:

Zscore = (x - mean) / standard deviation

x = score

Percentage below C :

D = 18% ; F = 12%

Sum = 30%

Obtain the Zscore for the proportion below D

P(Z < 0.30) = -0.524

Hence, Zscore = -0.524

Put Zscore = -0.524 in the equation :

-0.524 = (x - 72) / 12.5

-0.524 * 12.5 = x - 72

-6.55 = x - 72

-6.55 + 72 = x

x = 65.45

To receive a grade of C or better, score must be atleast 65.45

How do you model a decimal using a fraction
stiks02 [169]
Okie dokie,
When converting a decimal, you use the place the decimal is in...
Let's review the places: tenths, hundredths, thousandths, etc.
You look at the last number to determine what place you're using!
-------------------
Now here's an example for the tenths place:
.5
it's in the tenths place, right? so put it over that number (with no decimal) over a 10.
(mobile) 5/10 or \frac{5}{10}
Now, decide if you can simplify. You can! 5/10 simplifies down to 1/2.
\frac{1}{2} is your answer!
--------
Example for the hundredths place:
.26
the last number is in the hundredths place, so put the number (without a decimal) over 100!
26/100 or \frac{26}{100}
You can simplify this!
13/50 is your answer!

Calculators can also come in handy!
Good luck!

OlgaM077 [116]

Answer:

Pretty sure 25%.

Step-by-step explanation:

First, you would need to see how many times 60 goes into 100, because a percent is ALWAYS over 100. You should get an answer of 1.66666667. Then you if you multiply it to one of the numbers then you have to do it to the other number. So, you would do 15 times 1.66666667. You would get 25. So, that would be 25 over 100 or 25/100. And 25 over 100 is 25%.

I hope I helped! :) Sorry if it's wrong :(

In a poll to pick the name of a new planet discovered in a distant solar system, a total of 963 scientists voted. There were fou
jarptica [38.1K]

Answer:

195

Step-by-step explanation:

Let wining name have, x votes

1st = x

2nd = x - 53

3rd = x - 79

4th = x - 105

x + (x - 53) + (x - 79) + (x - 105) = 963

x + x - 53 + x - 79 + x - 105 = 963

4x - 237 = 963

4x = 963 + 237

4x = 1200

x = 1200 / 4

x = 300

4th = x - 105

x - 105 = 300 - 105 = 195
