A) As you can see in the graph attached, the repeating pattern of the function is π, therefore the period is:
 Period=π
 The amplitude is:
 Amplitude=4-(-4)/2=8/2
 Amplitude=4
 b) The graph shows that the maximum values are (Where y=4):
 Maximum values: 0,π,2π
 The minimum values are (Where y=-4):
 Minimum values:π/2,3π/2
 The zeros are:π/4,3π/4,5π/4,7π/4

What's the largest fraction in eaxh group? a. 5/6 and 29/36 b. 5/12 and 3/8 c.2/5 and 19/45 d.5/7, 13/14, and 19/21
Sever21 [200]

Answer:

a) \frac{5}{6}is greatest fraction.

b) \frac{5}{12} is greatest fraction.

c) \frac{19}{45} is greatest fraction.

d) \frac{13}{14} is greatest fraction.

Solution:

To compare two fraction we need to make denominator of both the fraction same.

a)Given fraction are \frac{5}{6} and \frac{29}{36}

\frac{5}{6}=\frac{5 \times 6}{6 \times 6}=\frac{30}{36}

So \frac{30}{36} is equivalent to \frac{5}{6}

So \frac{30}{36}>\frac{5}{6}

Hence \frac{30}{36} that is \frac{5}{6} is greater than \frac{29}{36}

b)Given fraction are \frac{5}{12} and \frac{3}{8}

\frac{5}{12}=\frac{5 \times 2}{12 \times 2}=\frac{10}{24}

Similarly we get \frac{3}{8}=\frac{3 \times 3}{8 \times 3}=\frac{9}{24}

So \frac{10}{24}>\frac{9}{24}

\frac{10}{24}>\frac{9}{24}

That is \frac{5}{12}>\frac{3}{8}

Hence \frac{5}{12} is greater than \frac{3}{8}

c) Given fraction are \frac{2}{5} and \frac{19}{45}

\frac{2}{5}=\frac{2 \times 9}{5 \times 9}=\frac{18}{45}

So \frac{19}{45}>\frac{18}{45}

That is \frac{19}{45}>\frac{2}{5}

Hence \frac{19}{45} is greater than \frac{2}{5}

d)Given fraction are \frac{5}{7}, \frac{13}{14} and \frac{19}{21}

\frac{5}{7}=\frac{5 \times 6}{7 \times 6}=\frac{30}{42}

\frac{13}{14}=\frac{13 \times 3}{14 \times 3}=\frac{39}{42}

Similarly we get

\frac{19}{21}=\frac{19 \times 2}{21 \times 2}=\frac{38}{42}

So \frac{39}{42}>\frac{38}{42}>\frac{30}{42}

That is \frac{13}{14}>\frac{19}{21}>\frac{5}{7}

Hence \frac{13}{14} is greatest fraction.
