Passage: At four hundred miles they stopped to eat,

at a thousand miles they pitched their camp.

They had traveled for just three days and nights,

a six weeks' journey for ordinary men.

When the sun was setting, they dug a well,

they filled their waterskins with fresh water,

Gilgamesh climbed to the mountain top

-Gilgamesh: A New English Translation,

Stephen Mitchell

Answer:a vast setting, a hero with great strength  and

a narrative voice(that should be in the answer options)

Explanation:

  • Vast Setting is the action that is considering cosmological and geographical space in literature such as: sea, across the land, thru time and more.
  • We can see in this passage that the character is having great strength since he can climb up to the mountain top and his travel lasted longer that is would last by the ordinary people.
  • A narrative voice is the voice which is showing us in what perspective is the story told and a narrative voice is always having important affect on the story.

What is the first question a reader should ask when trying to identify the themes of a novel?
yaroslaw [1]
Well a theme is the central message and lesson, so the way I learned is to come up with possible morals of the novel, then find evidence for each one, see which one is best supported, and use that one. If you think that will take too long, just find possible morals, then keep ruling them out until the one that makes the most sense is left, then find evidence for only that one.

Hope I helped you.
