Answer:

Carlos bought 80 feet of wire for $17.60.

Then the price for 1 feet of wire is 17.6/80 = 0.22

=> 30 feet of wire would cost: 30 x 0.22 = 6.6

Hope this helps!

The two shortest sides of a right triangle are 10 in. And 24 in. long. What is the length of the shortest side of a similar righ
ivanzaharov [21]
If the two shortest sides of the triangle are 10in and 24in, then using Pythagoras' theorem, the longest side =
\sqrt{10^2 + 24^2}
= \sqrt{676}
= 26

Now we know the two longest sides of the first triangle (24in and 26in) we can compare them with the two longest sides of the second triangle.
If x = the scale factor the first triangle is enlarged by then
26x = 39 and 24x = 36
⇒ x = 1.5

Finally, we need to multiply the smallest side of the first triangle by the scale factor to find the shortest side of the second triangle.
10(1.5) = 15
So the length of the shortest side of the other triangle is 15in.

You could, instead, calculate the length of the shortest side of the second triangle by using Pythagoras' theorem and ignoring the first triangle completely.

Is this sequence arithmetic,
geometric
or neither?
3.5. -4, -7.5...
kvasek [131]

Answer:

Neither

Step-by-step explanation:

If the sequence was geometric, each term would be multiplied by the same multiplier to get to the next one. We can check if the multiplier is the same by taking a term and dividing it by the term before it. For example,

-4/3.5=-1.14285714

-7.5/-4=1.87500

The multiplier between the terms aren't the same so it's not geometric.

For arithmetic, the distances between each term would be the same, and we can take the same idea from the geometric sequence, but use subtraction instead of division

-4-3,5=-7.5

-7.5-(-4)=-3.5

Again, the distances aren't the same, so it's not arithmetic.
