Describe how the shape of the insulin receptor allows glucose to get into the cell
Aloiza [94]

Type 1 Diabetic here! I can help!! so basically the receptor for insulin is a large protein that binds to insulin and passes its message into the cell. It has several functional parts. Two copies of the protein chains come together on the outside of the cell to form the receptor site that binds to insulin.

I hope this helped :)

The whip tail of a vinegaroon is a mimic for a scorpions pincher claws<br> true or false?
Vilka [71]

The statement is - False.

The vinegaroon has became very similar in appearance to the scorpions, by having similar body, similar proportions to certain species, having a whip tail. The whip tail though is not a mimic for the scorpion's pincher claws, but instead, it is a mimic of the scorpion's stinger. This adaptation of the vinegaroon has the purpose to fend of the predators by making them think that it is actually a scorpion and that they will get a nasty poisonous sting. This type of adaptations by mimicking certain traits of more dangerous species can be found in lot of animals from all shapes and sizes.

A student visits the beach during a very hot day. She steps on the sand and jumps because it is so hot
Mama L [17]

Answer:

A student visits the beach during a very hot day. She steps on the sand and jumps because it is so hot as a result of "conduction."

Explanation:

The process of the conduction happens because of the flow of kinetic energy from one molecule to the other by direct contact.  When she first steps the beach on the hot sand, after that the energy moves from the hot sand to the cooler body by conduction. While walking on the sand for few time, the feet will feel hot. The movement of the heat takes place from the hot sand to the bottom of the feet by conduction. When the objects come in contact with each other the heat transfers as a result of conduction.

How is a scientific law different from a scientific theory?
Digiron [165]

Explanation:

Scientific laws and scientific theories are very similar.

They both discuss and observe phenomena that have already occurred and been evaluated.

The main difference between the two is that law defines nature and what it does conditionally, and the reaction of nature when these conditions encounter.

To sum it up, law discusses the behavior of something that transpires in many annotations.

A theory on the other hand discusses not the behavior, but the functions. The “why” factor so to speak.
