7) So when x=6 then z=72, they are directly proportional, so if I multiply the first with a number, then I have to multiply the second with the same number.
6 becomes 13 (x)  /multiplied with about 2.167/
72 becomes 156(y) /multiplied with about 2.167/

8) Inversely proportional, so if I multiply the first with a number, then I have to divide the second with the same number.
6 becomes 13 (x)
2 becomes ~0.92307(y) /round it to the thousandths place and you get 0.923/

What I use the Pythagorean theorem for this problem?
andrew-mc [135]
No you would not use the Pythagorean Theorem, You would take the two sides and multiply them together, and divide it by 2.

The answer of 4(2x^3 y^4 )^4/2(2x^2 y^6 )^3  after simplification will be

4 x^{6}  y^{-2}

Step-by-step explanation:

To simplify

\frac{4(2x^3 y^4 )^4}{2(2x^2 y^6 )^3} .

Using exponential law the exponents of variables will be added when multiplied as per rule

we get

\frac{4[(2^4)(x^{3\times 4}) ( y^{4\times4} )] }{2[(2^3)(x^{2\times3} ) (y^{6\times3} )]}\\

\frac{4[(16)(x^{12}) ( y^{16} )] }{2[(8)(x^{6} ) (y^{18} )]}\\\\\frac{64x^{12}y^{16}  }{16 x^{6}y^{18}  }

Now by dividing according to exponential rule the exponents of variables will be subtracted as per rule

(\frac{64}{16} ) x^{12-6}  y^{16-18} \\4 x^{6} y^{-2}

So the answer of 4(2x^3 y^4 )^4/2(2x^2 y^6 )^3  after simplification will be

4 x^{6}  y^{-2}
