Answer:

A) The building blocks of elements are small particles called atoms

Explanation:

There are four kinds of matter: solids, liquids, gas and plasma. According to Charles Darwin all matter is made up atoms. Elements are matter because they are made up of the atoms. In elements all the atoms are the same making elements pure substances and not mixtures. An atom is the smallest part of an element and has all the properties of the element.

How to get the formulas for these compounds
Travka [436]
So what you’re going to do is basically the + and - in each top hand corner is the charge of compound, so for example Li has a charge of +1 while Br has a charge of -1 , to write the formula you need to get the charges to cancel out ( equal zero) so luckily this was easy because -1 +1 =0 ! So it would be LiBr. Though for another example Al has a charge of 3+ while br has a charge of -1 and these do not equal zero, so as a result you have to add more br making the Formula AlBr3! Hope this helps!

The electronic configuration of an element is given below.
Shalnov [3]

Answer:

It is reactive because it has to gain an electron to have a full outermost energy level.

Explanation:

The electron configuration of oxygen is 1s2,2s2 2p4.

Oxygen is in group six in the periodic table so it has six electrons in its valence shell. This means that it needs to gain two electrons to obey the octet rule and have a full outer shell of electrons (eight).
