A student set up an experiment to show the effect of light color on photosynthesis in Elodea plants. She filled three test tubes

with distilled water and placed a piece of Elodea in each of the tubes. She added a drop of phenol red, which turns red in a basic solution and yellow in an acidic solution. She blew in each tube to add carbon dioxide, which caused the distilled water to become more acidic so the phenol red turned yellow. She exposed Tube A to white light, Tube B to green light, and Tube C was wrapped in aluminum foil. Which of the tubes should she expect to turn red the fastest?

Answer:

Tube A will turn red the fastest.

Explanation:

 • Tube A will turn red fastest because Elodea plants will take up the white light and carry out photosynthesis.

 • In tube B, the red colour will not be generated fastly because plants do not use green light. Usually, the green light is just reflected by the plants and it is not absorbed.

 • In tube C, no photosynthesis will be able to occur because due to the wrapped aluminium foil the plants could not receive any light for photosynthesis.

myrzilka [38]

Answer:

Bio gas

Explanation:

Bio gas is gotten from the anaerobic breaking down of biomass especially animal waste.

PROS:

A. it is renewable: biogas is renewable and has an endless supply of material since animals are the main source when compared to fossil fuels.

B. It doesn't involve a rigorous mining exersice to get to like fossil fuels and it is in accessible abundance.

CON:

A. A lot of waste is needed for the product of biogas and the final waste (sludge) from the production process can be a huge problem to dispose off.

B. Some of the gases liberated in the manufacturing process are greenhouse gas, especially methane. These gases if let out, will contribute immensly to global warming.

What has allowed animals to adapt over time?
jeka94

Natural selection ensures that animals with features that increase their chances of survival are more likely to live and pass those traits on to their progeny.

Animals adapt to their surroundings over a lengthy period of time, which causes those changes. The evolution of adaptations happens across many generations.

What is an adaptation?

 • A physical or behavioral characteristic of an animal that enhances its ability to survive in its environment is known as an adaptation.
 • To put it another way, an adaptation is something a species does or has on them that makes it easier for them to locate food, water, mates, and shelter.
 • Among the adaptations that helped animals live and prosper on land are:
 1. Gas exchange using a moist membrane
 2. The ability to traverse land (limbs instead of fins)
 3. The capability of body water conservation
 4. The capability of reproduction and early habitability
 5. The capacity to endure fast environmental changes

What are the types of adaptation?

Depending on the environment, there are three basic types of adaptations: behavioral, structural, and physiological.

 • Physiological- When an animal's body's internal mechanisms adapt to its surroundings.
 • Structural - Over the course of millions of years of evolution, the animal's bodily features alter.
 • Behavioral - Animals adjust their behavior in reaction to their environment.
