Answer:

C. Student # 2 predicts that the vacuole will appear smaller and the chloroplasts and nucleus will have moved due to the cell membrane shrinking as water exits through osmosis.

Explanation:

Adding the drop of water to the slide puts the cell in a hypertonic solution and the water inside the cell will rush out of the cell to where there is less water, causing the cell to shrivel.

Which example describes animals living in a social hierarchy? Check all that apply.
Vinvika [58]

Answer:

A worker bee defends the hive while the queen bee lays eggs

A prairie dog barks to alert family members when it spots a predator

Explanation:

Just like people, some animals live in communities, where each of them plays a certain role. For those animals, we can say that they live in a social hierarchy.

Examples that describe something like this are the second and fourth ones.

In a hive, there are different types of bees: workers, drones, and a queen. Each of them plays their role, which makes their hive function properly.

Prairie dogs are another example of species that live in large communities. Since they are small and have numerous predators, they rely on each other for protection. They do this by barking whenever they spot a predator, this way alerting other members of their community.

The rest of the statements simply tell about how some species live without mentioning their social life. This is why they are incorrect.

Mitigating the risk of cytokine release syndrome in a Phase I trial of CD20/CD3 bispecific antibody mosunetuzumab in NHL: impact
Savatey [412]

Mosunetuzumab is a T-cell reliant bispecific antibody that binds to CD3 and CD20 to trigger T-cell mediated B-cell death.

However, cytokine release syndrome, which has the potential to limit dose and efficacy, can result from powerful immune stimulation with T-cell focused treatments.

We created a novel mechanistic model of immune and antitumor responses to the T-cell bispecifics (mosunetuzumab and blinatumomab), taking into account the dynamics of B- and T-lymphocytes in circulation, lymphoid tissues, and tumors, in order to better understand the mechanisms underlying safety and efficacy as well as to explore safety mitigation strategies.

Using mosunetuzumab nonclinical and blinatumomab clinical data, the model was created and validated. The initial step-fractionated dose was projected to minimize systemic T-cell activation and cytokine release without impairing tumour response.

Simulations described the mechanisms underlying the observed cell and cytokine (IL6) dynamics. The Phase I clinical study for mosunetuzumab was changed to a step-fractionated treatment schedule as a result of these findings, allowing for the safer administration of greater dosages.

Recall the procedure for measuring tyrosinase activity. what is the purpose of the phosphate buffer
aliya0001 [1]

Phosphate buffer is a buffer used in many types of reactions with the function to maintain constant pH value.

This is important because enzymes’ activity is affected by changes in pH. There is an optimum pH for every enzyme that can be defined as most favorable pH value or the point where the enzyme is most active.  Phosphate buffer is often use in the measurement of enzyme’s activity because  it is isotonic and non-toxic to most cells.
