Riley just opened a checking account at the bank. Within the first month, she deposited three checks for $34.98, $51.02, and $51

.22. She withdrew $5.23 for new pencils, $10.22 for earbuds, and $7.89 for movies from her account in the same month.
Write Riley’s withdrawals as negative rational numbers and her deposits as positive rational numbers.
Answer:

Order the rational numbers from least to greatest and explain your reasoning.
Answer:

At the beginning of the month Riley’s balance was $128. What was her balance at the end of the month after all of her deposits and withdrawals? Show your work, no credit will be given

Part 1:

Rational numbers have both demoninator and numerator as integers

Riley's withdrawals:

5.23 ----  -\frac{523}{100}

10.22 --- -\frac{1022}{100}

7.89 ---- -\frac{789}{100}

Riley's Deposits:

34.98 ---- \frac{3498}{100}

51.02 ---- \frac{5102}{100}

51.22 ---- \frac{5122}{100}

Part 2:

Order the rational numbers:

a - \frac{523}{100} -----Least

b - \frac{789}{100}

c - \frac{1022}{100}

d- \frac{3498}{100}

e- \frac{5102}{100}

f- \frac{5122}{100} ---- Greatest

Reasoning: Above the rational numbers are ordered from least to the greatest and they are represented by alphabets from a to f

Lets take the first rational number a =  \frac{523}{100} and compare it with the 5 other rational numbers. If it is less than all 5 numbers than that means it is the smallest one, this process will be applied on all rational numbers until all are sorted out.

Part 3:

Balance at the beginning: $128

Total Deposits: 34.98 + 51.02 + 51.22 = $137.22

Total Withdrawals: 5.23 + 10.22 + 7.89 = $23.34

Balance at the end of month: Total Deposits - Total withdrawals

= 137.22 - 23.34

Balance at the end of month = $113.88

Given that sin(x)=7/11, find cos(90-x). A. 4/11 B. 7/11 C. 11/7 D. 11/4
Contact [7]
Based on the given equation above, get the value of x first so that this value can be substituted to the second equation. Value of x can be obtained by taking the arc sin of 7/11 which gives an answer of 39.52 degrees. Substituting this value to the second equation cos (90-39.52) gives an answer equals to 7/11

In a fundraiser for thanksgiving a student sells pizza. If a box of pizza cost $14.50 and he sold it for $20.50. What is the mar
oee [108]

Answer:

The markup rate on each box=41%

Step-by-step explanation:

The markup rate is the additional price that a good is sold at expressed as a percentage. This can be expressed as;

R={(S-C)/C}×100

where;

R=markup rate

S=selling price

C=cost

In our case;

R=unknown

S=$20.50

C=$14.50

replacing;

R={(20.5-14.5)/14.5}×100

R=(6/14.5)×100

R=41.38% rounded off=41%

The markup rate on each box=41%
