Answer:

230 ft is the height of the object after 5 seconds

Step-by-step explanation:

As per the statement:

If an object is projected upward with an initial velocity of 126 ft per sec.

The height h after t seconds is given by:

h(t) = -16t^2+126t

We have to find the height of the object after 5 seconds.

At t = 5 seconds

h(5) = -16(5)^2+126(5)

⇒h(5) = -16 \cdot 25+630

⇒h(5) = -400+630

Simplify:

h(5) = 230 ft

Therefore, the height of the object after 5 seconds is, 230 ft

All you would have to do is plug in 5 for t since that is the time; then you would see that the height of the object after 5 seconds is 886 ft. Hope this helped!

Crickets can jump with a vertical velocity of up to 14 ft/s. Which equation models the height of such a jump, in feet, after t s
Y_Kistochka [10]

Answer:

h = 147 - 16t^2.

Step-by-step explanation:

Use the following equation of motion

h = ut + 1/2 gt^2    where  h = height, u = initial velocity , g = acceleration due to gravity and t = the time.

So here we have:

h = 14t + 1/2 * -32 * t^2

h = 14t - 16t^2

Complete the steps to solve the inequality:

0.2(x + 20) – 3 > –7 – 6.2x
KIM [24]

Answer:

x > -1.25

Step-by-step explanation:

First, let's start with the left side of the equation.

1) multiply 0.2(x  + 20). You will get 0.2x+4

So you have 0.2x+4-3

Simplify that, you will have 0.2x+1

Now, we need to isolate the variable (bring all terms with "x" to one side), and move everything else to another side. Remember that when you bring something to the other side, you must change the sign in front of the term (for example, bringing 2x to another side would change it to -2x. another example is if you were to bring -2 to another side, you would have to change it to 2.)

2) 0.2x+6.2x>-7-1 Moved like terms to one side.

6.4x>-8 I combined the terms here!

x > -1.25                                 Simplified!

Let me know if you need anything else :)
