X-y=1 --> x=1+y
plug it into the first equation
3(1+y) + 2y = 8
3+3y+2y=8

mr Goodwill [35]
Base height + statue height = total height

Total height = 305
statue height = 111

base height + 111 = 305
Subtract both sides by 111
base height = 194

The height of the base is 194 feet.

Otis paints the interior of a home for $45 per hour plus $75 for supplies. Shireen paints the interior of a home for $55 per hou
riadik2000 [5.3K]

Step-by-step explanation:

you should only make one equation:

75 + 45x = 30 + 55x

subtract the 30 frim both sides, then subtract 45x from both sides. you are left with:

45 = 10x

Divide by 10 and get:

4.5 = x

After 4.5 hours, the cost is equal for either worker.

What is the domain of the function y = RootIndex 3 StartRoot x minus 1 EndRoot?
finlep [7]

By definition of cubic roots and power properties, we conclude that the domain of the cubic root function is the set of all real numbers.

<h3>What is the domain of the function?</h3>

The domain of the function is the set of all values of x such that the function exists.

In this problem we find a cubic root function, whose domain comprise the set of all real numbers based on the properties of power with negative bases, which shows that a power up to an odd exponent always brings out a negative result.

<h3>Remark</h3>

The statement is poorly formatted. Correct form is shown below:

<em>¿What is the domain of the function </em>y = \sqrt[3]{x - 1}<em>?</em>
