Daughter cells produced in meiosis are genetically different. It is a unique feature of meiosis.

Further Explanation:

Meiosis is a reductional cell division where the haploid chromosome containing four daughter cells formed. Meiosis is a highly organized cell division as the gamete or spore produce must contain one member of each homologous pair of chromosomes. The crossing over results in genetic exchange amid non-sister chromatids of the “homologous chromosomes.” During spermatogenesis, four functional sperms are produced, whereas, during oogenesis, only one functional ovum is produced due to the asymmetrical division of cytoplasm.

Mitosis gives rise to two daughter cells, which are genetically identical and maintain the consistency of chromosomes. Mitosis occurs in somatic cells. The process involving crossing over between the homologous chromosomes is absent. Mitosis maintains the uniformity of the chromosome, whereas meiosis is a reductional division where the chromosome number reduced to half. Mitosis produces daughter cells that consist of exactly the identical number of chromosomes as the mother, but in meiosis, haploid daughter cells are produced from a diploid cell. Meiosis produced genetically different cells because of the crossing over.
