What could be a possible reason why a person earning $20,000 a year in the United States could be considered living in poverty w
Kryger [21]

The correct answer would be, The cost of living in United States could be much more higher than China.

The above mentioned statement could be a possible reason why a person earning 20k dollars in a year in United States could be considering living in poverty while in China it might not.

Explanation:

A person who earns $20,000 in United States could be considered living in poverty. This is because the cost of living in United states could be higher. For example the rent of the house where he lives might be higher as compared to other countries of the world. Similarly, food items, electricity, education and health care facilities might be much more expensive comparatively.

A person earning $20,000 in a year in China, might not be living in poverty, as the cost of living in China might be lesser than that of US.
