 so let be the x - the cost of one night´s lodging
 and let be -the y - the cost of a meal
now solve them
so x is the meal and y night spend
puting values
3 x + 6 y = 132
3 x + 2 y = 109 /  * (-1)
-----------------------------
 3 x + 6 y =   132
-3 x  - 2 y = - 109
-----------------------
          4 y = 23
solving for y
             y = 5.75
now for x
3 x + 34.50 = 132
3 x = 97.50
x = 97.50 : 3
so
x = $32.50
<span>The cost of one night´s lodging is $32.50.
hope it helps</span>

Six pounds of grapefruit costs 3 dollars 5 pound of apples cost 2.65. What is the cost per pound for each fruit ?
Greeley [361]

Answer:

We need to find the unit rates for the fruit. To do this, divide the cost by the number of pounds

Grapefruit:

cost/pounds

$3/6 pounds

3/6=0.5

0.5 per pound

Apples:

cost/pounds

$2.65/5 pounds

2.65/5=0.53

0.53 per pound

Solve the problems below. Please answer with completely simplified exact value(s) or expression(s). Given: ΔАВС, m∠ACB = 90° CD
madam [21]

Answer:

CD=3\sqrt{3}\ cm,\\ \\A_{ABC}=18\sqrt{3}\ cm^2

Step-by-step explanation:

Triangle ABC is right triangle. Since  m∠ACB = 90°  and m∠ACD = 60°, you get m∠BCD = 90°-60°=30°.

Triangle BCD is rigth triangle, then the leg that is opposite to the angle of 30° is half of the hypotenuse. Thus,

BD=\dfrac{1}{2}BC=\dfrac{1}{2}\cdot 6=6\ cm.

By the Pythagorean theorem,

CD^2=BC^2-BD^2=6^2-3^2=36-9=27,\\ \\CD=3\sqrt{3}\ cm.

Then

CD^2=AD\cdot BD,\\ \\27=3\cdot AD,\\ \\AD=9\cm.

Hypotenuse AB of the triangle ABC is equal to

AB=AD+BD=9+3=12\ cm.

The area of the triangle ABC is

A_{ABC}=\dfrac{1}{2}\cdot AB\cdot CD=\dfrac{1}{2}\cdot 12\cdot 3\sqrt{3}=18\sqrt{3}\ cm^2.
