Answer 270
9(-3)= -27
2(2)=4

-27(4)2 = 270

First plug in the values for x and y and distribute.

9(-3) x 2(2)—> -27 x 4

Now simply do 27 x 4

And you should get -108

And then do -108-2 which you give you -110 as your final answer. Hope this helps :)

If a person who works 40 hours per week earns $52,000 per year, estimate that person’s hourly wage. Use the estimate that there
oksano4ka [1.4K]
The hourly wage is approximately $26 per hour. Find out how many hours the person works per year by multiplying 40 x 50 to get 2,000 hours. Then divide 52,000 by 2,000 to get the person's hourly wage, which is $26 hours per hour.

If PQ=8 and Q lies at -13 where could P be located?
choli [55]

Answer:

In the given figure the point on segment PQ is twice as from P as from Q is. What is the point? Ans is (2,1).

Step-by-step explanation:

There is really no need to use any quadratics or roots.

( Consider the same problem on the plain number line first.  )

How do you find the number between 2 and 5 which is twice as far from 2 as from 5?

You take their difference, which is 3. Now splitting this distance by ratio 2:1 means the first distance is two thirds, the second is one third, so we get

4=2+23(5−2)

It works completely the same with geometric points (using vector operations), just linear interpolation: Call the result R, then

R=P+23(Q−P)

so in your case we get

R=(0,−1)+23(3,3)=(2,1)

Why does this work for 2D-distances as well, even if there seem to be roots involved? Because vector length behaves linearly after all! (meaning |t⋅a⃗ |=t|a⃗ | for any positive scalar t)

Edit: We'll try to divide a distance s into parts a and b such that a is twice as long as b. So it's a=2b and we get

s=a+b=2b+b=3b

⇔b=13s⇒a=23s

4.)

A.)

P = 140

i = 0.05

B.)

140(1.05)^t

C.)

0 = 140

10 = 228.05

5.)

A.) The y-intercept is how much the cell phone cost to purchase.

B.) V means value, t meaning years was replaced by 4, and 31.25 is how much it's worth at that time.

C.) The graph is decreasing, and the value goes down with time.

Write an equation of a line that goes through the point (-9, 3), and is perpendicular to the line 3x + y = 5
Vlad [161]
To find the slope of the line, first find the slope of 3x + y = 5, and then its opposite reciprocal.

3x + y = 5
y = -3x + 5
the slope of 3x + y = 5 is -3.

the slope is -3, so the opposite reciprocal slope is 1/3.

the equation of any line is y = ax + b
to find this line, y = 3, x = -9, and the slope is 1/3.

3 = -9a + b
3 = -9 (1/3) + b
3 = -3 +b
b = 6

substitute a and b into the equation
y = ax + b
y = 1/3x + 6

the equation of the line is y = 1/3x + 6.
