Why would i need to use square roots and cube roots?

We need the use of square root because it helps us to find the square root of a number, you want to find some number that when multiplied by itself gives you the original number.

or In other words, you can find the square root of 36, you want to find the number that when multiplied by itself gives you 36.

therefore, the square root of 36 is 6 [as 6 \times 6 =36 ]

Also, the symbol for square root is \sqrt{x}.

We need the use of cube root, to find the cube root of a number, you want to find some number that when multiplied by itself twice gives you the original number.

or in other word,  you can find the cube root of 64, you want to find the number that when multiplied by itself twice gives you 64.

therefore, the cube root of 64 is 4.  { as 4 \times 4 \times 4 = 64 }

The symbol of cube root is denoted as\sqrt[3]{x}
