A ball is thrown horizontally from the top of a building 22.3 m high. The ball strikes the ground at a point 127 m from the base

of the building. The acceleration of gravity is 9.8 m/s^2 . Find the time the ball is in motion. Answer in units of s.

Answer:

t = 2.13 s

Explanation:

given,

height of the building = 22.3 m

horizontal distance = 127 m

acceleration due to gravity = 9.8 m/s²

time for which ball is in motion = ?

using equation of motion

s = u t + \dfrac{1}{2}gt^2

initial velocity is zero

s = \dfrac{1}{2}gt^2

t = \sqrt{\dfrac{2s}{g}}

t = \sqrt{\dfrac{2\times 22.3}{9.8}}

       t = √4.551

        t = 2.13 s

This is the Doppler effect.

1. As the sound leaves the horn the sound waves are at first close to each other and as they move outwards they become further apart. The closer the sound waves are the louder the noise.

As the car gets the closer the sound waves get closer, so the horn becomes louder.

2. As the horn moves away, the sound waves become less frequent, causing the pitch to get lower.

The tongue weight of a trailer should be what percent of the gross trailer weight rating
mario62 [17]

Answer:

between 10 and 15 percent

Explanation:

How to put your load

- First load the heavy

The safe trailer starts loading correctly. Uneven weight can affect steering, brakes and swing control.

In general, 60% of the weight of the load should be in the front half of the trailer and 40% in the rear half (unless the manufacturer indicates something different). When you place the load, you want it to be balanced from side to side, keeping the center of gravity near the ground and on the axle of the trailer.

-  Hold your load

After balancing the load, you must hold it in place. An untapped load can move when the vehicle is moving and cause trailer instability.

- Trailer weight

To avoid overloading the trailer, look for the recommended weight rating. It is located on the VIN plate in the trailer chassis, usually on the tongue. Confirm the Gross Vehicle Weight Classification (GVWR) before towing.

GVWR: is the total weight that the trailer can support, including its weight. You can also find this number as the Gross Trailer Weight (GTW). The weight of the tongue should be 10-15% of the GTW.

A 6.00-μf parallel-plate capacitor has charges of 40.0 μc on its plates. how much potential energy is stored in this capacitor?
dedylja [7]

Thew energy stored in a capacitor of capacitance C and voltage between the plates V is

E=\frac{1}{2} CV^2=\frac{1}{2C} Q^2.

Substituting numerical value

E=\frac{1}{2*6*10^{-6}} (40*10^{-6})^2\\ E=133.33\; \mu J

Ngan has a weight of 314.5 N on Mars and a weight 833.0 N on Earth. What is Ngan's mass on Earth?
mr_godi [17]

Ngan's mass on earth is 85kg.

Ngan has a weight on Mars = 14.5 N

Ngan’s weight on Earth = 833.0 N

Ngan’s mass on Earth = ?

<span>Fg,earth = mg(earth)</span>

<span>M = Fg,earth </span><span>/ g(earth)</span>

<span>M = 833.0 N / 9.8 m/s2</span>
