Distance formula= [(x2-x1)^2 + (y2-y1)^2]^1/2
Origin= white house = (0,0)
Capitol= (2300,800)
Put the value,
(2300² + 800² )^1/2
= 2435 meters
Thus distance is 2435 m

This question has 2 parts. Answer both parts. Sara started with 12 comic books in her collection. She collected the same number
dezoksy [38]

Answer:

see the explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

Part A

Sara

Find out the equation of the line

The equation of the line in slope intercept form is equal to

y=mx+b

where

m is the slope

b is the y-intercept

x is the number of months

y is the number of comic books

we have

b=12\ comic\ books

Find the slope m

we have the points

(0,12) and (4,20)

m=(20-12)/(4-0)\\m=2\ comic/month

substitute

y=2x+12

Each unit on the x-axis represent 0.5 months and each unit on the y-axis represent 4 comic books

The origin of the graph is the point (0,12), this point represent the y-intercept or the initial value (the value of y when the value of x is equal to zero)

Ashton

Find out the equation of the line

The equation of the line in slope intercept form is equal to

y=mx+b

where

m is the slope

b is the y-intercept

x is the number of months

y is the number of comic books

we have

b=2\ comic\ books

m=3\ comic/month

substitute

y=3x+2

The origin of the graph is the point (0,2), this point represent the y-intercept or the initial value (the value of y when the value of x is equal to zero)

Part B

Compare the slope and y-intercept for the graphs of each function in terms of the quantities

Sara

b=12\ comic\ books

m=2\ comic/month

Ashton

b=2\ comic\ books

m=3\ comic/month

therefore

Sara's graph has the greater y-intercept than Ashton's graph

Ashton's graph has the greater slope than Sara's graph

What is the ratio of x to y?
2 x
---- = --------
3 3x+y
Ghella [55]
2/3 = x/(3x + y)

Cross multiply:

3x = 2(3x + y)

Distribute 2:

3x = 6x + 2y

Subtract 6x to both sides:

-3x = 2y

Divide 'y' to both sides:

-3x/y = 2

Divide -3 to both sides:

x/y = -2/3

how large is the acceleration of a 60 kg runner if the friction between her shoes and the pavement is 500 n?
melomori [17]

The force of friction is given in the scenario:

Force = 500 Newton

and the mass of the runner is 60 kg

To find the acceleration we need to use the relation between force, mass, and the acceleration of the object:

F=m\times a

Where 'F' represents the force, 'm' represents the mass, and 'a' represents the acceleration.

Plugging the value of variables we get:

500=60\times a

Solving for 'a' (acceleration) we get:

a= \frac{500}{60} =8.33 Newton/kilogram or meters/ second squared

So the acceleration of the runner is 8.33 meters/ second squared.
