City A and city B each have 10 parks. The table shows the number of acres for each park in the two cities. City A 6 9 10 7 10 10
NeTakaya

the mean of each park in cityA: is 7.5

the mean of each park in cityB: is 7.3

what i did to find the mean is that i added up all of the numbers of acres of parks in each city then divided by ten the reason i divided by ten is because there is ten numbers in each list of acres.

the range of the numbers of acres for the parks is 10

the way i found this out is that i first listed all of the numbers of acres of land for parks from both citys from least to greatest then subtracted the smallest(2) to the largest(12) which gave me 10 cause all your doing is takeing 2 form 12.

A manufacturer allows a discount of 30% on the list of prices of goods bought by wholesalers. Calculate the discount allowed on
Semenov [28]

Answer:

a) 10 percent of 800,000 is 80,000

80,000*3=240,000

They will allow a discount of 240,000, making the price 560,000.

b) 10 percent of 1,000,000 is 100,000

100,000*3=300,000

They will allow a discount of 300,000, making the price, 700,000.

Triangle ABC has coordinates A(1,-1), B(0,2), and C(2,1) and it is reflected over the line y = x to form triangle A'B'C'. What a
liberstina [14]

Answer:

The coordinates of triangle A'B'C' are A' (-1 , 1) , B' (2 , 0) , C' (1 , 2)

Step-by-step explanation:

* Lets revise some transformation

- If point (x , y) reflected across the x-axis

 ∴ Its image is (x , -y)

- If point (x , y) reflected across the y-axis

 ∴ Its image is (-x , y)

- If point (x , y) reflected across the line y = x

 ∴ Its image is (y , x)

- If point (x , y) reflected across the line y = -x

 ∴ Its image is (-y , -x)

* Lets solve the problem

- ABC is a triangle, where A = (1 , -1) , B = (0 , 2) , C = (2 , 1)

- The Δ ABC reflected over the line y = x to form ΔA'B'C'

∵ The image of the point (x , y) after reflected across the line y = x

   is (y , x)

∴ We will switch the coordinates of each point in Δ ABC to find the

  coordinates of Δ A'B'C'

# Vertex A

∵ A = (1 , -1) ⇒ x = 1 , y = -1

∴ The x-coordinate of the image is -1

∴ The y-coordinate of the image is 1

∴ A' = (-1 , 1)

# Vertex B

∵ B = (0 , 2) ⇒ x = 0 , y = 2

∴ The x-coordinate of the image is 2

∴ The y-coordinate of the image is 0

∴ B' = (2 , 0)

# vertex C

∵ C = (2 , 1) ⇒ x = 2 , y = 1

∴ The x-coordinate of the image is 1

∴ The y-coordinate of the image is 2

∴ C' = (1 , 2)

* The coordinates of triangle A'B'C' are A' (-1 , 1) , B' (2 , 0) , C' (1 , 2)

Older people often have a hard time finding work. AARP reported on the number of weeks it takes a worker aged 55 plus to find a
Norma-Jean [14]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Hello!

Be the variable of interest:

X: Number of weeks it takes a worker aged 55 plus to find a job

Sample average X[bar]= 22 weeks

Sample standard deviation S= 11.89 weeks

Sample size n= 40

a)

The point estimate of the population mean is the sample mean

X[bar]= 22 weeks

It takes on average 22 weeks for a worker aged 55 plus to find a job.

b)

To estimate the population mean using a confidence interval, assuming the variable has a normal distribution is

X[bar] ± t_{n_1; 1-\alpha /2} * \frac{S}{\sqrt{n} }

t_{n-1; 1-\alpha /2}= t_{39; 0.975}= 2.023

The structure of the interval is "point estimate" ± "margin of error"

d= t_{n_1; 1-\alpha /2} * \frac{S}{\sqrt{n} }= 2.023*(\frac{11.89}{\sqrt{40} })= 3.803

c)

The interval can be calculated as:

[22  ±  3.803]

[18.197; 25.803]

Using s 95% confidence level, you'd expect the population mean of the time it takes a worker 55 plus to find a job will be within the interval [18.197; 25.803] weeks.

d)

Job Search Time (Weeks)

21 , 14, 51, 16, 17, 14, 16, 12, 48, 0, 27, 17, 32, 24, 12, 10, 52, 21, 26, 14, 13, 24, 19 , 28 , 26 , 26, 10, 21, 44, 36, 22, 39, 17, 17, 10, 19, 16, 22, 5, 22

To study the form of the distribution I've used the raw data to create a histogram of the distribution. See attachment.

As you can see in the histogram the distribution grows gradually and then it falls abruptly. The distribution is right skewed.
