\dfrac{x^4-7x^2+17x-10}{x(x^2-3)}

The degree of the numerator (4) is larger than the degree of the denominator (3), so first you need to divide. (Added screenshot of long division procedure.)

\dfrac{x^4-7x^2+17x-10}{x(x^2-3)}=x-\dfrac{4x^2-17x+10}{x(x^2-3)}

Now the second term can be decomposed into partial fractions.

\dfrac{4x^2-17x+10}{x(x^2-3)}=\dfrac{r_1}x+\dfrac{r_2x+r_3}{x^2-3}
\dfrac{4x^2-17x+10}{x(x^2-3)}=\dfrac{r_1(x^2-3)+x(r_2x+r_3)}{x(x^2-3)}
4x^2-17x+10=r_1(x^2-3)+x(r_2x+r_3)
4x^2-17x+10=(r_1+r_2)x^2+r_3x-3r_1
\implies\begin{cases}r_1+r_2=4\\r_3=-17\\-3r_1=10\end{cases}\implies r_1=-\dfrac{10}3,r_2=\dfrac{22}3,r_3=-17=-\dfrac{51}3
\implies\dfrac{4x^2-17x+10}{x(x^2-3)}=-\dfrac{10}{3x}+\dfrac{22x-51}{x^2-3}

So

\dfrac{x^4-7x^2+17x-10}{x(x^2-3)}=x+\dfrac{10}{3x}-\dfrac{22x-51}{x^2-3}

15. They are still 6 blocks away from each other.
16. (-6,1) art and (-6,-2) animal.  They are the same distance from each other as before because they moved together the same distance right to left across the coordinate plane.
17. The new location is (3,2).  It is 8 blocks away from the old.

18.
A. I have attached the graph.
B. A triangle
C. A= \frac{a*b}{2} = \frac{4*4}{2} = \frac{16}{2} =8 m^{2}

PLS HELP ASAP WILL GIVE BRAINLIEST PLSSSS
Dmitrij [34]

Answer:

I won't write it in paragraph but use this:

  1. angle A + angle B + angle C = 180 so when one angle is missing add the other 2 and subtract it to 180, that would be the answer for the missing angle; applies only to triangle (all kinds)
  2. if its the exterior angle, add them all like the one above but subtract it instead to any shapes or if it is adjacent to a given degree, you can always subtract it to 180 to get the exterior
  3. if its a different shape, count the sides and subtract it by two then multiply by 180; thats the degree for the total angles of the shape
  4. if its variable, do the third one (unless you know what it is) add them all like the first one and subtract to the answer in the #3

7. Show all work to identify the discontinuity and zero of the function f of x equals 5 x over quantity x squared minus 25.
olganol [36]

Question 1:

For this case we have that the function f (x) = \frac {5x} {x ^ 2-25} is undefined or discontinuous where the denominator equals 0.

x ^ 2-25 = 0\\x ^ 2 = 25\\x = \pm \sqrt {25}\\x_ {1} = + 5\\x_ {2} = - 5

Thus, the function is undefined or discontinuous at +5 and -5.

To find the zeros of the function we match the function to zero and clear "x":

\frac {5x} {x ^ 2-25} = 0

Factoring the denominator, taking into account that the roots are -5 and +5:

\frac {5x} {(x + 5) (x-5)} = 0

We multiply by(x + 5) (x-5)on both sides of the equation:

5x = 0\\x = 0

ANswer:

Discontinuity: + 5, -5

Zero: x = 0

Question 2:

For this case we propose a system of equations:

x: Be the variable that represents the yellow fish

y: Be the variable that represents the green fish

x = y-6\\x = 0.4 (x + y)

We manipulate the second equation:

x = 0.4x + 0.4y\\x-0.4x = 0.4y\\0.6x = 0.4y\\y = \frac {0.6} {0.4} x\\y = 1.5x

We substitute in the first equation:

x = y-6\\x = 1.5x-6\\x-1.5x = -6\\-0.5x = -6\\x = \frac {-6} {- 0.5}\\x = 12

So, we have 12 yellow fish in the aquarium.

y = 1.5 * 12\\y = 18

So, we have 18 green fish.

Answer:

12 yellow fish

18 green fish
