The attention of the entire universe was centered on the earth and its human inhabitants.

Explanation:

           Geocentric model of the universe states that the earth was at the center and all the bodies in the universe namely the moon, sun and other planets revolve around the sun.  All the objects in the universe sits in several spheres around the earth. This theory was given Plato. It also coincides with the belief or religious outlook of Catholic Church.

           They believed that human inhabitants are the center of attention in the entire universe. Also it seems that the sun appears to mover around the earth once in a day. Thus the Europeans of the medieval period believes that earth is the center of the entire universe.
