Answer:

Well, it is complicated because I've never studied that in math. I searched up the definitions of both in math and they're very similar. Permutation is a one of many possible variations and can change. A combination is the process of joining to things to be one. So if I had to choose I think I'd go with permutation since it isn't asking you to list all the ways you can make groups out of the number 30.

Rachel multiplied each side of x ≥ 2 by 3. She wrote the result as 3x ≤ 6. Explain the error Rachel made.
andrey2020 [161]

Answer:

Her mistake was to change the inequality sign from ≥ to ≤.

The sign only changes when you multiply or divide both sides of an inequality by a negative number.

Bobby is testing the effectiveness of a new cough medication. There are 100 people with a cough in the study. Seventy patients r
Tresset [83]

Answer:

0.665

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:  100 people are split into two groups 70 and 30.  I group is given cough syrup treatment but second group did not.

Prob for a person to be in the cough medication group = 0.70

Out of people who received medication, 34% did not have cough

Prob for a person to be in cough medication and did not have cough

=\frac{0.70(34)}{60}=0.397

Prob for a person to be not in cough medication and did not have cough

=\frac{0.3(20)}{30}=0.20

Probability for a person not to have cough

= P(M1C')+P(M2C')

where M1 = event of having medication and M2 = not having medication and C' not having cough

This is because M1 and M2 are mutually exclusive and exhaustive

SO P(C') = 0.397+0.2=0.597

Hence required prob =P(M1/C') = \frac{0.397}{0.597}=0.665

If p(x)=x^2+x+1 and q(x)=3x^2-1, find p(7)
Delvig [45]

Answer:

p(7) = 57

Step-by-step explanation:

Because this is a function, all you have to do is input 7 for x like so:

p(x)=x^2+x+1 --------------->     p(7)=7^2+7+1

                                            so 49 + 8

                                                = 57

Given a line passes through point (5,8) and the origin, find the equation of the line.<br> y=
SOVA2 [1]

Answer:

y = 8/5x

Step-by-step explanation:

I'm assuming that they're asking for the equation in point-slope form.

The formula is y=mx+b where:

m = slope

b = y intercept

However, the y intercept is just (0,0) so b = 0

To find the slope we already have 2 given points: (0,0) and (5,8)

To find slope you do rise/run and you get 8/5

Substitute the slope & y intercept in the formula:

y = 8/5x

Let me know if I'm wrong!!
