Numerous barriers can prevent sperm from reaching and fertilizing the egg, this can be that the Sperm may be defected, or lack the required number of mitochondria needed to help move the sperm. Also, if sperm had already fertilized the egg, there is a change that takes place to the membrane surrounding the egg preventing further sperm from fertilizing.

A sex linked trait can be defined by which genotypes. Choose all which apply.
attashe74 [19]

Answer:

a. Coded for on the X and Y chromosomes

b. Coded for on the X but not Y chromosome

c. Coded for on the Y but not X chromosome

Explanation:

The X and Y chromosomes are the sex chromosomes as they are involved in sex determination. All the genes that are present on the X and Y chromosomes are inherited along with these chromosomes and therefore, exhibit sex-linked inheritance.

X and Y chromosomes share a homologous region. Therefore, the sex-linked genes are defined as the ones present on both X and Y chromosomes as well as the ones that are present on either X or Y chromosomes.

For example, the gene for hemophilia is present on the X chromosome; but not on the Y chromosome. The SRY gene is present only on the Y chromosome.

Assuming a typical monohybrid cross in which one allele is completely dominant to the other, what phenotypic ratio is expected i
IgorC [24]

Answer:

Assuming the dominant allele is represented as A, and the genotype as AA and the recessive as a, and genotype as aa; then the F1 will produce the offispring. Aa, Aa, Aa,Aa in ratio: 1:1:1:1:1

This shows the dominance of allele A.

However if two of the F1 generation are crossed then:

The F2 is AA,Aa,Aa,aa the phenotypic ratio is

                        3 ; 1

While the Genotypic ratio is ratio;

   1AA : 2Aa Aa; 1aa(1 ;2;1)

What is density and what does it tell you about a substance
densk [106]

Answer:

Density is the characteristic property of the substance. Density is related to mass and volume of the substance.

Explanation:

Density of the substance decides whether it will float or submerge in water or any other liquid. If the substance is denser than the liquid then it will sink and if its density is lower than the liquid then it will float.

Density is written in kilogram per cubic meter. For instance, the density of oil is lesser than water and hence, it floats.
