1) It allows for international cooperation. This means that for example, you can understand and work with other people's results, you can cooperate with other people in production of goods (if you produce one part of something and they produce another) and you can repeat their experiments to see if their results were sound

2) It reduces errors caused by not rigorous measurement: a common measurement supports more exact specification of the measuring units, since many people work towards specifying it exactly.

A 175-kg motorcycle goes around an unbanked turn of radius 75.4 m at a steady 112 km/h. Determine its acceleration?
Nuetrik [128]

Answer: 12.83 m/s^{2}

Explanation:

In this case we are talking about the centripetal acceleration a_{c}, which can be calculated by:

a_{c}=\frac{V^{2}}{r}

Where:

V=112 \frac{km}{h} \frac{1000 m}{1 km} \frac{1h}{3600 s}=31.11 m/s is the speed of the motorcycle

r=75.4 m is the radius of the path the motorcycle is going around

Solving:

a_{c}=\frac{(31.11 m.s)^{2}}{75.4 m}

Finally:

a_{c}=12.83 m/s^{2}

How many minutes will it take to drive to los angeles from san francisco if an average speed of 72mi/hr is maintained?
Sholpan [36]
The distance between Los Angeles and San Francisco is approximately 381.9mi.
Divide this distance by the speed.
381.9/72 = 5.3
You are left with the time in hours. To convert to minutes, multiply by 60.
5.3*60 = 318.25

Therefore, it will take 318.25 minutes.

Two parallel conducting plates are separated by 4.00 cm. The electric field strength between the two plates is 5.70×10⁴ V/m.
Nookie1986 [14]

Answer:

2280 V

Explanation:

distance between the plates, d = 4 cm = 0.04 m

Electric field strength, E = 5.7 x 10^4 V/m

The formula for potential difference is given by

V = E x d

V = 5.7 x 10^4 x 0.04

V = 2280 V

thus, the potential difference between the plates is 2280 V.

I'm working from a study guide and I got a question asking:
Harlamova29_29 [7]

you need to use hours to make it easy to convert to m/s. Change 15 minutes to hours

Note distance is in km so change the time to hours to get km/hour

1 hour = 60mins so 15 minutes will be 0.25 hours

10/0.25 = 40 km/ hour

To change that to m/second, change km to meters and hour to second

it will be (40x1000) meters /3600seconds

11.1111 m/s
