3 1/2 - 4 2/5<br> how do i do this?
Nadusha1986 [10]

Answer:

Ok so first you would have to turn them into improper fractions which is

3 \frac{1}{2\\} = \frac{7}{2} and 4 \frac{2}{5} = \frac{22}{5}

So now that you have made them both improper fractions you have to find common denominators.

To find common denominators you must multiply both the numerator and the denominator by the same thing. Since your oposing fraction has a denominator of 5 you can know that a even number wont go in an odd number so take \frac{22}{5} and mutiply both numbers by 2 and get \frac{44}{10}. Then mutiply both numbers in \frac{7}{2} by 5 to get a common denominator.

\frac{35}{10}

\frac{35}{10} - \frac{44}{10} =35 - 44 = -9 so your answer is -\frac{9}{10}

For a circle with a radius of 15 cm, what is the length of an arc intercepted by an angle measuring 120°?
slega [8]

Answer: 31.43 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

The length of an arc  is calculated using the formula:

\frac{theta}{360} X 2\pir

where : theta is the angle in degree

r = radius

If the angle is given in Radian , the length can be calculated using the formula:

L = r∅

Since , the angle is given in degree , we will use the first formula.

L = \frac{theta}{360} X 2\pir

L = \frac{120}{360} X 2 X π X 15

L = \frac{1}{3} X 2 X \frac{22}{7} X 15

L = \frac{660}{21}

L = 31.42857143

L ≈ 31.43 cm
