First, find how much he paid by tire.
To do so, divide what he paid by how many tires he bought like this :
240$ / 12 = 20$ per tire

Then, calculate how much he sells each tire.
To do so, start by calculating how much he paid for 3 tires:
20$ x 3 = 60$

This is the price he sells 2 tires for, therefore :
60$ / 2 = 30$
he sells his tires 30$ each.

Finally, you have to calculate the profit he made by selling 12.
We already know how much it cost, so you need to find how much money he gets selling them :
12 tires x 30$ = 360$

To find the profit, take off the amount he paid from the amount he made :
360$ - 240$ = 120$

There you go!

Determine the factors of x2 − 7x − 10. (5 points) a (x + 2)(x − 5) b Prime c (x − 2)(x + 5) d (x + 10)(x − 1)
Savatey [412]

For this case we must factor the following expression:

x ^ 2-7x-10

To factor, we must find two numbers that when added together give -7 and when multiplied by -10.

It is observed that there are not two whole numbers that comply with the aforementioned.

Thus, the following equation applies:

x = \frac {-b \pm\sqrt{b ^ 2-4 (a) (c)}} {2 (a)}

Where:

a = 1\\b = -7\\c = -10

We replace:

x = \frac {- (- 7) \pm \sqrt {(- 7) ^ 2-4 (1) (- 10)}} {2 (1)}\\x = \frac {7 \pm \sqrt {49 + 40}} {2}\\x = \frac {7 \sqrt {89}} {2}

So, the roots are:

x_ {1} =\frac {7+ \sqrt {89}} {2}\\x_ {2} =\frac {7- \sqrt {89}} {2}

Answer:

x_ {1} =\frac {7+ \sqrt {89}} {2}\\x_ {2} =\frac {7- \sqrt {89}} {2}

For your friend's birthday, you have 3 presents to wrap. Find the combined surface area of these 3 gifts so you know how much wr
omeli [17]

The answer is: 5,614 square inches.

The explanation is shown below:

1. The gift on the bottom is a rectangular prism. To calculate its surface area, you must apply the following formula:

 SA=2[(l)(w)+(l)(h)+(h)(w)]

Where l is the length (20 inches), w is the width (42 inches) and h is the heigth (16 inches).

2. Substitute values:

SA1=2[(20in)(42in)+(20in)(16in)+(16in)(42in)]=3,664in^{2

3. The surface area of the other gifts can be calculated with the formula for calculate the surface area of a cube:

SA=6s^{2}

Where s is the side.

4. The surface area of the bigger cube is:

SA2=6(15in^{2})=1,350in^{2}

5. The surface area of the smaller cube is:

SA3=6(10in^{2})=600in^{2}

6. The total surface area (the combined surface area of the three gifts) is:

SAt=SA1+SA2+SA3\\SAt=3,664in^{2}+1,350in^{2}+600in^{2}\\SAt=5,614in^{2}

Show how you can scaffold a grade 2 class to understand the following mathematics topic it’s concepts and application. 1.1.1 nam
stich3 [128]

The best way to scaffold a grade 2 class to understand the topics such as   unitary fractions, fractions in diagrammatic form, write fractions as 1 half is by first explaining the definition then real life application including physical representation.

What is fraction?

A fraction is a portion of a whole or, more roughly, any number of equal pieces. The word fraction comes from the Latin word fractus, which meaning "broken." When expressed in common English, a fraction, such as one-half, eight-fifths, or three-quarters, specifies the number of components of a specific size. A common, vulgar, or simple fraction is one with a non-zero denominator that is displayed below (or after) the line on which the numerator is displayed. Examples of these fractions include 1/2 and 14/3. The uncommon fractions that use numerators and denominators are difficult fractions, compound fractions, and mixed numeral fractions.

Definition or explanation of the topics given in the question:

<u>Unitary fractions</u><u> or </u><u>Unit fractions</u>:  A fraction with the number one in the numerator is known as a unit fraction in mathematics. Of all the equally sized portions of the whole, it symbolizes one shaded part. "Unit" refers to one.

For instance, 1/4 is the numerical representation of a pizza that has been divided into 4 equal portions, each of which is being consumed by one individual similarly if it got divided between 2 people it is represented as 1/2.

<u>Recognize</u><u> fractions</u><u> in diagrammatic form</u>: This could be done by showing the diagrams which contain boxes of two different colors which represents the numerator and denominator.

<u>Write </u><u>fractions </u><u>as 1 half</u>: The 1 half fractions are the fractions in which the denominator is twice the the numerator. That is any fraction in the form n\2n where, n = 1, 2, 3, 4.... is the 1 half fraction.
