(-3)(-4y) + (-3)3 + 7y    (two negative signs cancel each other out and become positive)

12y - 9 + 7y    Combine like terms(terms that have the same variable and power/exponent), which are only 12y and 7y because the have the same variable of y and an exponent of 1

19y - 9         (this is as far as you can simplify)
