Oxidases are the enzymes that oxidize organic substances such as amino acids, fatty acids, etc. Peroxisomes also oxidize toxic substances such as alcohol and hydrogen peroxide. If a cell has a build up of amino acids and lipids, peroxisomes of the cells might not be working to oxidize these organic molecules.
