Since you're looking for how many acres can be planted per pound of seed, you'd have to divide 9 by 80. That's \frac{9}{80}.

Once divided, you would get 0.1125.

0.1125 ACRES
CAN BE PLANTED PER POUND OF SEED.

You will have to do 9 divided by 80, which is 9/80.

How to solve and figure it out
Vilka [71]
So your equation is currently in point-slope form; however, to figure out the slope and y-intercept, you'd be better off in slope-intercept form: y = mx + b

while in point-slope form, y - y1 = m(x - x1), you can definitely see the slope as -5, you can't see the y-intercept as easily. x-intercepts are actually the solutions/zeros of a function, and it was included in the answer choices to confuse you.

you're correct about -5 being a decreasing slope. but to figure out the y-intercept, you need to convert to slope-intercept form.

y - 4 = -5(x + 1)  ... distribute the -5
y - 4 = -5x - 5  ... add 4
y = -5x - 1

and in the form of y = mx + b, where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept, you can see that you have a decreasing slope of -5 and a y-intercept of -1. your correct answer is A. choices C and D were thrown in to distract you and make you think that the -5(x + 1) was somehow related to discovering the x-intercept.

There are 15 boys and 45 girls competing in a race. What is the ratio of girls to boys in the race , lowest terms ?
Ivanshal [37]
<h3>Answer =  3:1</h3>

==========================================

Work Shown

45 girls : 15 boys

45/15 girls : 15/15 boys .... divide both parts by 15

3 girls : 1 boy

This tells us there are three times as many girls as there are boys.

We write this as the ratio 3 : 1. The order of the terms is important. We cannot say 1:3 since that would imply there are more boys than girls, but it's the other way around.

RUDIKE [14]

Answer:

3p^3 + qp^2 - pq^2 + 3q^3

Step-by-step explanation:

(p²-pq + q²) ( 3p+ 3q)

3p^3 + 3qp^2 - 3qp^2 - 3pq^2 + 3pq^2 + 3q^3

3p^3 + qp^2 - pq^2 + 3q^3

There are 20 blueberry muffins and 15 bran muffins in a bakery.
jekas [21]
We can say that there are 20 blueberry muffins for every 15 bran muffins, according to the given information. This can be expressed as 20:15 in ratio form. We can simplify this ratio further, by dividing both sides by 5, to leave us with the simplified ratio of blueberry to bran muffins, 4:3
