Answer:

Option A. AB=25\ units

Step-by-step explanation:

step 1

Find the value of x

we know that

If AB is a mid-segment, then AB is parallel to YZ

so

Triangles AXB and YXZ are similar by AA Similarity Theorem

Remember  that

If two figures are similar, then the ratio of its corresponding sides is proportional and its corresponding angles are congruent

In this problem

\frac{YZ}{AB}=\frac{YX}{AX}

we have that

AB=\frac{1}{2}YZ ----> by Midpoint Theorem

YZ=2AB

substitute the given values in the expression above

\frac{2AB}{AB}=\frac{22+2x+2}{2x+2}

solve for x

2=\frac{24+2x}{2x+2}

Multiply by (2x+2) both sides

4x+4=2x+24

Group terms

4x-2x=24-4

2x=20

x=10

step 2

Find the length of AB

AB=3x-5

substitute the value of x

AB=3(10)-5=25\ units

A set of three lines that has one point of intersection
ryzh [129]
This construction called a pencil of lines. That figure can have 3,4,5.... any number of  straights lines. The main rule is their common point. And it looks like spokes of a wheel. Here you can find a lot of vertical angles and rays.

Find the value of y to the following system of equations.
wel

Answer:

  y = 4/3

Step-by-step explanation:

The two equations can be added to eliminate x:

  (0.1x +0.5y) + (-0.1x -0.2y) + (1.2) +(-0.8)

  0.3y = 0.4 . . . . . simplify

Divide by the coefficient of y to find y:

  y = 0.4/0.3

  y = 4/3

A line has a y-intercept at (0,−15) and contains the point (−4,−3). What is the equation of the line in slope-intercept form?
nydimaria [60]

Answer: y=-3x-15

Step-by-step explanation:

The equation of the line in Slope-Intercept form is:

y=mx+b

Where "m" is the slope and "b" the y-intercept.

Since the given line  has a y-intercept at (0,-15), then:

b=-15

The formula for calculate the slope is:

m=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}

Knowing that the given line contains the points (0,-15) and (-4,-3), we can calculate the slope. This is:

 m=\frac{-15-(-3)}{0-(-4)}=-3

Substituting values into y=mx+b, we get that the equation of the line in Slope-Intercept form is:

y=-3x-15
