Maintaining internal conditions within an organism, especially when <span>outside conditions change is called homeostasis. In Latin, the word homo/homeo means <em>the same, </em>and stasis means <em>state/condition. </em> </span>
All living organism on this planet have the ability to change or regulate the environmental conditions with in their bodies that keeps them and their body in a stable positions irrespective of the changing external environment. This mechanism of regulation is known as homeostasis.
For example - we start shivering , when our body faces a temperature lower than the normal room temperature to maintain constant internal temperature for proper functioning of internal organs and systems.
