Did you get this in a question in maths?

If you did ,it probably meant contrapositive. It means that it switches the hypothesis and conclusion with the the negation on both statements. For example, "If it is raining, then the floor outside is wet" if contrapositive is used, "If the floor outside is not wet, then it is not raining"

If you did not get this in a math question, contra means against or oppose.

Which property is shown by -3 x (6+5) = -3 x 6+ -3 x 5
aniked [119]

Answer:

The distributive property of multiplication

Step-by-step explanation:

we know that

The <u>distributive property of multiplication</u>  states that the product of a number by a sum, is equal to multiply each addend by the number (This is called distributing the number) and then, you can add the products

so

a*(b+c)=a*b+a*c

in this problem we have

-3*(6+5)=-3*6+-3*5 ----> the number -3 is distributed

therefore

We have the distributive property of multiplication

madreJ [45]

Answer:

37.5

Step-by-step explanation:

First you have to realize that these are similar triangles.

You can do a easy cross multiplication with these types of questions by forming an equation with the similar angles.

put the smaller above the decimal and the bigger one below like this.

\frac{8}{25}=\frac{12}{x}

Now cross multiply

8x=300

x=37.5

Solve for x <br> -2^2(-5x+10)=100
masha68 [24]

Answer:

x=7

Step-by-step explanation:

Hi there!

-2^2(-5x+10)=100

Solve -2^2:

-4(-5x+10)=100

Divide both sides by -4:

\displaystyle \frac{ -4(-5x+10)}{-4}=\frac{100}{-4} \\\\-5x+10=-25

Subtract 10 from both sides:

-5x+10-10=-25-10\\-5x=-35

Divide both sides by -5:

\displaystyle \frac{-5x}{-5} = \frac{-35}{-5} \\\\x=7

Therefore, x = 7.

I hope this helps!
